Winner of the “Your Snowie Shaved Ice Story” contest

Shaved Ice Winner

All of us at Snowie would like to thank each of you who participated in our “Your Snowie Story” Contest.  It was great to read through the submissions. We loved seeing the support that each of you have and the comments that many of your family, friends, and colleagues submitted on your stories.  We are grateful to everyone who took the time to vote and leave comments.  It is not easy to take time out of your busy schedule to even like a post, let alone comment on it.  Your participation is truly amazing!

At this time we would like to congratulate the winner, Luke Lucas.  He received 3300 Facebook Likes by 11:59PM on Friday, January 24th.  We will be shipping him a Snowie 1000 Ice Shaver this week to help him grow his business and expand his potential.

Luke’s lil’ Snowie Success

I just watched the movie, “Where the Red Fern Grows” with my wife, my 6 year old son and my 4 year old daughter.  I wondered if a movie that old would grip them like it did me when I was a child.  It did.  It has been about two weeks and they still talk about it.

I remember being very young and feeling the impression that movie left on me.  It was a required read in our family as well, and I was able to see the drive that it put into my older siblings.

What held our attention the most was the motivation this boy had for work.  The total expense was a long shot, but he realized what effort, diligent effort, every day would do.  Sometimes work can seem so fruitless to us when we have such lofty goals, but when we go about those tasks each and every day, we realize that each little bit counts.  The more days that pass where we hold strong to our goals, the more exciting that process becomes.  Not only is there excitement in watching that roll of money grow, but we learn a lot about ourselves as well.  We develop character, grit, standards, and pride that are not easily taken from us again.

I guess this is my way of saying that Luke reminds me of the boy in “Where the Red Fern Grows.”  To calculate the value of individual golf balls at such a young age is a great quality.  An then to use that money to move into something bigger rather than spend it on a gaming console, is an even greater quality.

Luke, congratulations!  We hope that this will help you to expand your business, and we hope that you will continue to submit your story to us on the “Your Story” section of our website.  We would love to follow your progress in doing Snowie Shaved Ice.

We would also like to encourage each of you that did not submit your story to please share it with us.  There is nothing to win at this time, but we would love to hear your experience.

We will be launching another contest very soon concerning your story as well.  Only this time it will be a video contest.  I don’t know when we will be announcing the launch of that contest, but it should be quite soon.  So bust out that footage and start editing.  We would love to see your Snowie stories in a video format.

Thank you once again to all who entered and all who participated!
